MPB’s core service is private 1:1 online physics tutoring. A student contacts us on WhatsApp or by email, our helpline team manually matches them with the right physics tutor within the hour, and the session happens live on Google Meet with a two-way interactive whiteboard. No bots, no algorithms, no recorded videos — every session is a real human tutor working with a real student on real physics.

We cover 71 physics subjects. Our mission is to make expert physics tutoring accessible to every student who needs it, wherever they are in the world — from a high school student struggling with Newton’s laws in Texas to a PhD student trying to make sense of renormalisation in quantum field theory in London.

Physics is hard, and genuinely excellent physics tutors are rare. Most students who struggle with physics are not struggling because they lack intelligence or effort — they are struggling because they have never had someone explain the right concept in the right way at the right moment. One good session with the right tutor can unlock a subject that felt impenetrable for months. MPB exists to make that session happen.

Pankaj Kumar’s path to founding MPB is not a straight line. He trained as a marine engineer at MERI Kolkata, graduated in 2004, and spent three years working as a 4th Engineer on oil tankers. A kidney condition — nephrotic syndrome, diagnosed in 2007 — forced him to leave the merchant navy. After a period of recovery, he joined Tutorvista in 2009 as an online physics tutor.

What Tutorvista showed him was not just that online physics tutoring was viable — it showed him that a student in Canada or the USA could work with a great physics tutor in India, and the quality of that interaction could be just as effective as a face-to-face session, for a fraction of the cost. He also saw the limitation: Tutorvista was a large platform with many tutors of varying quality. The thing that made the difference to a student was not the platform — it was getting the right tutor for their specific problem at their specific level.

That insight is the foundation of MPB. The platform is deliberately built around human matching — someone who actually listens to what a student needs and selects accordingly — rather than an algorithm that surfaces whoever is available.
