How Online Physics Tutoring Works at MPB
Deliberately simple. No registration. No subscription. No algorithm. You contact us, we match you with the right physics tutor, you pay, and you start — under an hour in most cases.
The Three Steps
Tell Us What You Need
WhatsApp +91 8971 383660 or email care@myphysicsbuddy.com with your physics subject, level (school, undergraduate, postgraduate), what you want to achieve, and preferred time.
Share any materials — a problem set, past paper, textbook chapter, or just a description of the exact concept that is not clicking. A real helpline team member responds within minutes, 24/7.
Pay & Confirm
Once you agree on the tutor and fee, pay securely before the session begins via PayPal, credit/debit card, UPI, or bank transfer.
Your session is confirmed once payment is received. We send the Google Meet link via WhatsApp ahead of the scheduled time.
New students: First 30 minutes cost $1. Same quality as a full paid session. Full refund if not satisfied.
Join Your Session
Click the Google Meet link from a laptop or tablet. No software installation — just a browser and stable internet. Your tutor is ready, having reviewed your materials.
Work together on a two-way interactive whiteboard with live voice. Both of you write, draw, and annotate simultaneously in real time.
After every session, your tutor sends written notes summarising what was covered, methods demonstrated, and practice problems — sent to your WhatsApp.
What Happens Inside a Session
Sessions run on Google Meet with a two-way online whiteboard. Both you and the tutor write, draw, and annotate simultaneously. The tutor works through problems on the whiteboard; you write your attempt; the tutor corrects your reasoning in real time.
Best device: Laptop or tablet with a stylus (iPad + Apple Pencil works exceptionally well). A mouse is usable. A mobile phone screen is too small for effective whiteboard use.
Sharing files: Send problem sets, PDF notes, past papers, or screenshots via WhatsApp before the session. You can also upload directly during the session.
Recording: You can record using Google Meet’s built-in feature. MPB does not record sessions.
Scheduled vs On-Demand Sessions
Scheduled sessions — book a specific tutor at a specific future time. Most effective for students working through a course over weeks or months. The tutor tracks your progress, identifies recurring errors, and adapts to how you specifically think about physics. Progress is faster and more durable.
On-demand sessions — contact us needing a session soon (same day or next day). We connect you with whichever qualified physics tutor is available for your subject. Ideal for urgent doubt-clearing, a problem before a deadline, or a topic needed before an exam.
Both available. Tell us which you need when you contact us.
How Tutor Matching Works
MPB does not use an algorithm. Our helpline team manually selects the tutor with the right combination of subject expertise, experience with your academic system (AP, A Level, IB, undergraduate, etc.), and availability.
This matters for physics more than most subjects — the way AP Physics C: Mechanics is taught is quite different from Classical Mechanics at IIT level, which is different again from what a UK undergraduate encounters. Matching to the right curriculum and exam format is central to the session being useful.
You can request a specific tutor if you have worked with them before. 75% of students find their preferred tutor on the first trial.
Online vs. Face-to-Face Physics Tutoring
The structural advantage of online tutoring is access. Instead of being limited to whoever is qualified in physics within driving distance — which, for advanced topics like QFT or General Relativity, may be no one — you can work with genuine specialists from anywhere.
Our tutors are primarily physicists from IITs, NITs, and IISc. The two-way whiteboard and live voice make online physics sessions effectively equivalent to in-person sessions for the subjects MPB covers. Physics is a written discipline — it happens on paper, or in this case on a shared digital whiteboard.
The cost difference is significant. Expert physicists in India at roughly half the rate of comparable in-person tutoring in the USA or UK.
